Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov depicted as "unacceptable" the draft resolution
proposed by Arab countries on referring issue of imposing sanctions on Syria from the Security Council to the UN General Assembly.
In a press statement on Friday, Gatilov said imposing sanctions is entrusted to the UN Security Council, adding "We reject imposing sanctions and the draft resolution is unacceptable and unilateral."
He stressed that adopting such draft resolution will make restoring stability to Syria more difficult.
" It is too early to say when voting on the aforesaid draft resolution could take place since it wasn't officially presented to the US General Assembly." Gatilov said.
