Iraqi MP Discloses Qatar, S. Arabia's Plots against Iraq, Syria

A senior Iraqi legislator said that Saudi Arabia and Qatar have failed in their efforts to stir sectarian
strife in Iraq and Syria.

"Saudi Arabia and Qatar have failed in (implementing) their intrigue which was aimed at stirring a strife among various tribes in Iraq and Syria," the Arabic Alsumaria news agency quoted Iraq's National Alliance MP Mohammad al-Sayhood as saying on Saturday.

He said that Riyadh and Doha intended to exercise the seditious plot in Syria after their failed to implement it in Iraq.

Al-Sayhood reiterated that the plot was masterminded by Israel and staged by Qatar and Saudi Arabia, adding that the same regional Arab states armed the Syrian opposition in pursuit of the same divisive plot in Syria.

In relevant remarks on Tuesday, a senior Syrian legislator close to President Bashar al-Assad rapped Doha and Riyadh for their plots against his country, and said the two Arab states cannot impose their will on the Syrian people.

"Countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar in which the simplest form of Constitution, democracy and freedom rules is not observed cannot impose their scenario on the Syrian people, specially a scenario which is aimed at the country's disintegration," Ammar al-Assad told FNA.

Stressing that the public opinion in the region is aware of the real nature of the Arab regimes, he said, "They all know that the leaders of these regimes are all representatives of Israel and are the other side of the Zionist regime's coin."

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs against Syrian police forces and border guards being reported across the country.

Hundreds of people, including members of the security forces, have been killed, when some protest rallies turned into armed clashes. The government blames outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups for the deaths, stressing that the unrest is being orchestrated from abroad.

Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey along with the US, have been supporting terrorists and rebel groups in Syria and have practically brought a UN peace initiative into failure to bring President Assad's government into collapse.
